We believe that the most important thing when using your remote
control opener is safety. Considering that the garage door and gate are probably
the largest and heaviest moving objects in the home please think about these
important safety messages.
For ADDITIONAL SAFETY protection and peace of mind Smart
Openers strongly recommend the installation of Photo Electric Safety Beams. In
most countries a Photo Electric Safety Beam is mandatory on all garage
doors and gates fitted with a remote control opener.
Regularly check to make sure that the
SAFETY REVERSING SYSTEM is working correctly and is tested and set as per
the installation instruction manual. Failure to do so may result in serious
personal injury, property damage and/or death. This test must be repeated at
regular intervals and the necessary adjustments made by a qualified technician.
The garage door or gate must be well balanced. Sticking or binding
doors and gates must be serviced by a qualified technician prior to installation
of a Smart Opener.
The garage door or gate should be regularly
tested in manual operation to ensure that it continues to operate smoothly and
is properly balanced. A poorly balanced door or gate will greatly decrease the
life of the automatic opener and could lead to opener failure and/or personal
injury or property damage.
Frequently examine the door or gate, in
particular cables, springs, br/ackets, hinges, etc.
DO NOT attempt to
repair the garage door yourself as door hardware is under extreme tension.
Contact with the door can cause serious personal injury, property damage and/or
death.
DO NOT disengage the opener to manual operation while
persons or objects are within or near the doorway or gateway
Only
experienced Smart Openers service technicians should remove covers from your
Smart Opener. Disconnect the power cord from mains power before making any
repairs or removing covers.
Only connect the opener to a properly
earthed general purpose 240V mains power outlet installed by a qualified
licensed electrical contractor.
If the power supply cord is cut or
damaged, it must be replaced immediately by a Smart Openers service agent or
suitably qualified person.
Remove or render inoperative all
door/gate locks and mechanisms prior to installation of your Smart Opener.
When using auto close mode, a photo electric safety beam must be
fitted and tested for correct and safe operation at regular intervals. Extreme
caution is recommended when using auto close mode. All safety rules in the
installation and owners manuals must be followed to avoid serious injury,
property damage and/or death.
Make sure the wall switch or wall
mounted transmitter is mounted in view of the garage door or gate and out of
reach of children.
In order for the garage door or gate opener to
sense an object coming into contact with the door/gate, some force must be
exerted on the object. As a result the object, door/gate and/or person may
suffer damage or injury.
DO NOT operate the garage door or
gate opener unless the door or gate is in full view and free from obstructions
such as cars or people. Make sure it has finished moving before entering or
exiting the property.
DO NOT operate the garage door or gate
opener when persons are near the door or gate. Children must be supervised at
all times when the opener is in use.
DO NOT allow children to
operate the garage door or gate opener or play with remote controls.
Keep hands and clothing away from moving door or gate at all times.
Make sure that the garage door or gate is in full view and fully
open before driving in or out of the property.
Make sure the garage
door or gate is in full view and fully closed before leaving the driveway.
